I am pleased to report that, following the successful General Assembly in Strasbourg in December 2005 and the formal agreement with the Council of Europe, the Network is now in position to proceed with its work.
The Bureau met in London on April 7, 2006 and has programmed following actions:
We have established a website (www.eycn.org).
We plan two seminars in 2006. One, in the early autumn, will be a training seminar and study visit in Finland. The second, towards the end of the year, will be a members’ seminar associated with the ‘all different, all equal’ campaign and will explore how members are engaging with young people on these issues.
We are preparing various bids for funding activities in 2007 for training, information-sharing and networking events for members.
We have established the following bank account:
CREDIT MUTUEL (France)
RESEAU EUROPEEN DE CENTRES DE JEUNESSE (EUROPEAN YOUTH CENTRES NETWORK)
Account Nr. (IBAN)
FR76 1027 8010 0600 0201 5214 586
BIC / SWIFT Code
It is necessary now to consolidate the full participation of members.
The first step in this is the payment for 2006 of the annual membership fee of 500 € by each body which is provisionally in membership (a list is attached). An invoice is enclosed and payment should be made directly by bank transfer to our above mentioned bank account.
Members who have not paid by September 30, 2006 will be considered to have lapsed and will not be eligible to participate in the events planned or other Network actions.
I very much hope, therefore, that you are ready now to participate fully by subscribing as soon as possible.
Further enquiries may be made, if necessary, from the Network’s General Secretary Ritva Saarikettu, our Treasurer Panos Poulos or myself.
Thank you in advance.
Tom Wylie – President
