Short description of organisation / center:
The National Institute for Further Education (NIDV) is a directly managed organization of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports with a nationwide guarantee of further education and professional development of pedagogical staff of schools and school facilities, including school facilities for leisure education. Many years of tradition and experience in the field of education and an extensive network of our methodologists, professional guarantors and external collaborators, among other things, provide us with the high quality and full-scale implementation of the tasks arising from the state priorities and the Ministry of Education departmental projects. For the target groups we provide a comprehensive offer of educational and consulting services, methodical and professional support, and at the same time we can respond operatively to current and specific needs and requirements of schools and teachers in individual regions of the Czech Republic. We also guarantee systemic care for talented or exceptionally gifted children and youth and targeted support for teachers to work with specific groups of pupils, such as children / pupils-foreigners or joint education.
An important part of our activity is the implementation of projects co-financed by the European Social Fund, through which the NIDV verifies and introduces innovative elements in the education system and fully supports pedagogical staff in increasing their professional and professional competencies.

How the organization/center integrate the intercultural learning, human rights education and education for active citizenship in its activities?
The quality of education in a democratic society is given apart from other factors, often neglected, and providing equal opportunities for all children, pupils and learners to develop their potential. In Czech schools, therefore, emphasis is placed on equal access and equal treatment in all areas of personality development and its knowledge and skills guaranteed by applicable laws (eg equality of girls and boys, disabled and healthy people, etc.).
As far as gender stereotypes are concerned, ultimately they should be tackled in society as a whole, so that there is no discrimination on the basis of gender as well as prevention of gender discrimination and violence against women. This is what the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) is trying to do in its project “Gender Equality at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports”, which has been working since the second half of 2017. It seeks to anchor the gender agenda within the MEYS structures and include the principle of gender mainstreaming in the MEYS. This applies to all its directly managed organizations, including the NIDV.

What are the mechanisms you use in your organization / center in terms of ensuring the participation of young people in preparation and realization of your activities?
NIDV offers schools, educators, class colleges and individual pupils a variety of activities to promote their talent. In each region of the Czech Republic, the NIDV teacher support and education teacher is provided, which provides information and methodological support to schools, including education, and also cooperates with other bodies at regional level.

Please describe in a few words the facilities of your organization / center (accommodation, educational facilities, training staff, specific methodologies etc.).
The NIDV has two renovated learning and leisure centers:
Richtrovy bouda (Pec pod Snezkou, Giant Mountains)
Learning and Recreation Center Medvedica (Tatranská Štrba, Slovakia)
Both these facilities are located in the middle of mountain nature and offer unique conditions for nature schools, school trips, ski courses, conferences, outings and training sessions or seminars. In addition to cozy accommodation and excellent dining, you will also find fully furnished conference rooms and equipment for a variety of outdoor activities. Schools and school facilities can also take advantage of discounted rates and discounts for their stays.

What are your priorities / fields of interest for cooperation with other members of the Network in the sphere of intercultural learning?
We would like to aim NIDV’s international cooperation as to exchange experiences, share good practice with foreign partners, and bring new impetus to further education of pedagogical staff and workers working with children and youth. NIDV is the most involved in the implementation of international projects under the ERASMUS + program, where it cooperates with foreign institutions with a similar professional focus. NIDV representatives, as experts in the professional development of pedagogical staff, participate in international events abroad, and the institute also co-organizes national conferences, seminars, internships and lectures with foreign participation.
